Station renovations

17 Oct

The Logan Square Blue Line station has had some renovations over the years, most notably in 2001 when the elevators were added and the south mezzanine expanded.  (Unfortunately, the compass rose that was once in the sidewalk as you stepped off the escalator at the Kedzie Avenue exit was inexplicably removed.)

Some minor renovations have taken place piecemeal since then, such as the addition of bike racks and digital information screens.

Just this past summer, the CTA took a SWAT team approach to the station with its Renew Crew washing, refurbishing, painting. lighting, planting, etc. all at once to make a profound impact on the station (see the CTA’s before and after photos).
